24 Okt Plenary session – “Future of Demography/Longevity”
The congress program of the ICA 2018 will include a wide variety of formats suitable for all kinds of talks on actuarial and financial issues. Apart from the 30 invited speaker session for 60 to up to 750 participants and the 240 parallel talks, which last 30 minutes each, daily plenary sessions will reflect a wide variety of topics facing the actuarial profession. The plenary sessions consist of 90 minutes each, with internationally renowned guest speakers from insurance, regulation and academia presenting current developments in the insurance and finance industry.
“Future of Demography/Longevity” – the first plenary session on Monday 4 June 2018 focuses on the ever-increasing life expectancy and how the modern insurance industry can cope with this challenge. In two consequent talks Mikko Myrskylä, Executive Director of the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR), and Dr Winfried Heinen, CEO of General Reinsurance AG, will approach this topic from their individual perspectives.

The other plenary sessions following from Tuesday onwards cover the topics: “Future of Insurance”, “Future of Low Interest Rate Environment”, “Future of Mobility” and “Future of Regulation”.
