12 Dec Coming Together – Welcome Event “Gauss Meets Humboldt”
Welcome Event “Gauss meets Humboldt”
3 June 2018, 8 pm – 11 pm
Venue: Natural History Museum
The Welcome Event on Sunday 3 June 2018 invites delegates to an exclusive night at the Natural History Museum in Berlin, one of the most important research institutions in the world in the fields of biological and geological evolution and biodiversity. With a theme of “Gauss meets Humboldt”, participants will get exclusive insights in the museum. Several activities await the visitors: Participants can walk through the exhibition, which shows fossils of plants and animals from the late Jurassic period. A number of guides at the most important exhibits will answer all questions. Those who want to have a closer look should not miss the opportunity to study the fossils in detail in the microscope hall. And everybody who prefers to experiment themselves can try the “physics in between”. The walking physicians provide small-scale but astonishing experiments to be solved by the delegates. At this event, real researchers are asked to participate in all experiments. And all of this will happen next to brachiosaurus brancai, the tallest mounted dinosaur skeleton in the world. An event definitely not to be missed.
NOTE: Participants of the Welcome Event are advised to collect their registration documents on Sunday to be able to provide their ticket at the Event/Bus Shuttle.
