Field trip: Berlin at its best – by bus and boat

Departure from Hotel Estrel: 1:00 pm – return to Hotel Estrel: 5:00/5:30 pm
Language: English (on the boat: audio-guide)

Did you know that Berlin has more bridges than Venice? The German capital is also known as the “City on the Water” thanks to the number of shipping channels and canals besides the great rivers Spree and Havel. This tour combines all the advantages of a coach tour with the comfort of enjoying the sights of Berlin aboard a Spree river boat.

See the highlights of the Western and the Eastern city center and remains of the Wall, walk through Brandenburg Gate, the symbol of reunified Germany, and see famous sites such as the reconstructed Paris Square, the Victory Column with its emblematic golden angel in the center of Tiergarten park, the Government Quarter with the Chancellery and Reichstag Building, the luxury boulevard “Unter den Linden” which dates back to Prussian times, and visit hot spots of the Cold War like Checkpoint Charlie and Potsdamer Platz.

After boarding the boat, you will see some of the main attractions from an entirely different perspective, for example, the Chancellery, the Reichstag building, Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral, the TV Tower (the highest tower in Central Europe) and many more. Relax and see the government quarter and the historical city center while smoothly cruising on Spree River. Just sit back, watch and listen – you will get an entertaining all-in-one overview of Berlin.

This tour includes a photo stop at the Brandenburg Gate, the symbol for the division and unification of Germany, and a one-hour boat ride.

Please note that some of the sights in the tour “Berlin by bus and boat” are also included in the tour “Highlights of Berlin”.
